Orange & Black for Halloween

Orange and black are the two colors we often see at Halloween. I wondered how they came to be those colors, so I looked for an answer.

Simple. Black represents darkness … since Halloween is a night-time thing. The fall season, harvest time, is orange and indicates life. Thus we have black and orange!

The history of Halloween is more complicated. I’ll leave that to others to write about. Happy Halloween!!

Your Right to Celebrate

During the upcoming week, many of us will participate in personal celebrations … some religious, some not. Humankind needs to respect each other’s differences … it is what makes each of us special.

Some people will celebrate religious holidays, such as Christmas and Hanukkah; others will celebrate a cultural, non-religious holiday, such as Kwanzaa.

Whatever you celebrate and when you celebrate, I wish you joy!
