Tennessee, I Promise I will Return!

I camped in Marion, Arkansas located on the other side of the Mississippi River from Memphis, Tennessee. Years ago I toured Elvis Presley’s Graceland. This trip I would drive directly to Kentucky and spend time where I had never stepped before.

But before that long drive, I did stop in Memphis. There I walked, 1 mile down and then back, parallel to the Mississippi River at their “Riverwalk”. Then a short drive to the “Big River Crossing” trailhead. Dedicated in 2016, it is the longest, more than a mile, public pedestrian/bicycle bridge across the Mississippi River. I walked across and back; perfect before a long drive to Bowling Green, Kentucky. No stops in Nashville or elsewhere, so I know I will return to Tennessee someday and truly visit!
