Protect the Grand Canyon…and All our National Parks!

I love trees and when in combination with a beautiful canyon all is wonderful. I want to see them together!

I hope many of us understand the importance of protecting our national parks, outdoor spaces, and even our local greenways whether we are using them for hiking, bicycling, bird-watching or relaxation of any sort!

I am forever thankful to our predecessors who had the foresight to set land aside to be protected. Now if we can keep them protected, future generations will enjoy what we have been able to enjoy yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Glacier National Park Visit

Where have all the glaciers gone in Glacier National Park? Yes, it was distressing to see the lack of them and to know in the very short term, 10-20 years, they will all be gone! That fact somewhat prompted my wish to get to the park before they are gone! Great views throughout the park, and even snow at the higher pass, Logan Pass, so we travelled different routes those days! Always carry your bear spray and know how to use it. Fortunately we had no close encounters, yet we did see bears and other wildlife up close, sometime just off hiking trails.

Our National Park System With Pride

Just visited Yellowstone National Park; it was an amazing trip. Despite numerous wildfires in the park, for the most part we could travel to the places we wanted to see, and occasionally get near wildlife. Everyone seemed to be respectful of the wildlife in keeping safe distances from them. There were times I would have loved to use a longer zoom lens on my camera, but all worked out fine. Mudpots, vents, basins, geysers, Mammoth Springs, Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, Old Faithful, Prismatic Basin, beautiful mountains and valleys, and numerous board walks to get closer to certain areas…none to be missed if you ever get to Yellowstone. I would imagine it is magical in winter and maybe that will be in my future!

Be sure to make Yellowstone National Park one of your destinations! I am so proud of the fact that individuals so many years ago had the foresight to set land aside to be protected, so animals could roam it too, and I could visit a wilderness.
