With all the technology available, why can’t various carriers deliver packages when their text to you states there will be a delivery? How many times have I hung around waiting for the package to be delivered, as they may state, between 10:40am and 1:20pm? Actually, I only wait when these are packages with perishable items or requiring a signature!
Other packages, needing no signature, arrive at my door. The photo sent to me showing its arrival is nice. Easy and even better, they predict an arrival time of “end of day”. That works fine … along with the photo.
Packages needing a signature or marked perishable, they are another matter. Needing a signature, someone in the household needs to be present; usually easy enough. The perishable package I would like to receive early in the day. No perishable item should be in an unrefrigerated truck for too long, especially in the southwest USA’s hot weather. I know companies pack their product in cold packs/dry ice with extra packing to remain cold/frozen for hours. However, I am not fond of receiving it at 9pm, and especially not, if those lobsters were that night’s dinner! How can I plan from a particular company when one time they arrive at 11:00am and another time at 9pm from the delivery carrier? Could carriers not prioritize perishable items in their route or send a truck with all perishables into an area for faster delivery?
Unfortunately every year during holiday time there are late deliveries. So many packages, so few trucks and drivers to make deliveries. My solution has been to make purchases on the off season. Now my packages seem to be arriving on time and in some cases even a day earlier!
I hope your packages are arriving as you wish!
