A federal holiday is celebrated in the USA on July 4th, our Independence Day. Our Declaration of Independence from Great Britain was in 1776. Beyond the BBQ and holiday fireworks you may see today, think about what independence means to you and your family.
I sincerely enjoyed the holiday with my Muslim (via Iran/India/Pakistan), Vietnamese, and African American family; all were appreciative of being citizens of the USA! Oddly enough, I was the only Caucasian (if there actually is one). Being surrounded by such diversity, unless I’m looking into a mirror, we all blend. That’s what makes us Americans!
Let’s not forget we all came from somewhere and can blend! We are to be united.
