How wonderful for land to be protected for generations to come! That’s what happens when we have new state parks coming into the environmental portfolio of protected lands for wildlife, human recreation, and healthy watersheds!
The park needs a few years to build the structures needed for visitor center, educational exhibits and whatever else deemed necessary, but you can walk any of the six flat, dirt trails. The White Cliffs Trail parallels the Verde River. There we saw kayakers enjoying themselves on the river; very cool! As a matter of fact, I saw some families fishing at the river!
The trails are not the most exciting right now; however, many benches are located in various places for visitors. I would imagine on an early morning one may be looking at flowers in the meadow with birds stopping by. There will be a variety of trees for birds to enjoy too. At the three different parking areas there are picnic tables and rest rooms, so as the park develops plant and animal life will be enjoyed by humans.
Will you be visiting the Camp Verde area, 90 miles north of Phoenix, Arizona?
If so, visit Rockin’ River Ranch State Park at 4513 S. Salt Mine Rd., Camp Verde, Arizona. Park hours are 9am-5pm Definitely bring drinking water, a snack for your picnic or time on a trail, and wear sunscreen as there is plenty of sunshine here! Enjoy your new state park!
